We Are Open!
Aaction Kenpo in Spokane, Washington offers group classes and an open gym. Master Jerald Mitchell is on a temporary break for an elective surgery and associated physical therapy afterwards. Normally scheduled classes will be on hold until January 2023.
In the meantime, the school will be open Tuesdays from 5 pm to 9 pm starting in late October and continuing through to Christmas break. Master Mitchell has recruited two of his systems’ most experienced Black Belts to provide guidance and instruction during this period. Associate Professor Mary Wright (5th Degree Black) and Senior Instructor Matt Cowles (4th Degree Black) with other studio black belts will provide guidance and instruction. This time will be open workout and an excellent time to work on your art and receive personalized instruction from Ms. Wright and Mr. Cowles.
Open enrollment begins in January 2023. Please call and leave a message to inquiring about enrollment or to register. Response may be delayed but we are relieving all messages and thank you for your interest!

About Aaction Kenpo
Our style of teaching stems from Senior Grandmaster Ed Parker who is the founder of American Kenpo Karate. My father, Jim Mitchell trained privately with Mr. Parker in his home over a ten year period. Mr. Parker taught Jim Mitchell the entire Kenpo system up to where it was at the time up through what is known as “Long Form 8.” Designated one of Mr. Parker’s protégés, he continued to practice and teach Kenpo as Aaction Kenpo in Spokane. Now, I continue to operate and teach at the studio. Our students practice for a number of reasons: as self-defense, military and law enforcement applications, mental and spiritual development, and cultural heritage.
